Mission Statement

In providing geophysical services, Enviroscan abides by the following principles:

  • We maintain a noncompetitive relationship with our clients by doing only geophysics, and not other environmental or engineering work.
  • We are not owned in any part by any company that does environmental or engineering work.
  • We maintain a complete suite of surface, marine and borehole geophysical tools so that we can always recommend the correct equipment and technique for any job -- i.e. we are under no pressure to recommend the gear that we happen to have rather than the gear that would be best for the job.
  • We maintain close relationships with geophysical equipment manufacturers (often acting as a beta or test site for new equipment) to ensure that we always use the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
  • All data are collected, processed and made into maps and figures digitally to ensure an electronic field-to-finish product that contains no transcription or other human errors.
  • For all surveys, we use high accuracy global positioning system (GPS) location control to ensure GIS compatible, geospatially referenced results.
  • We only recommend geophysical surveys if geophysics can provide useful information to our client.  If we are aware of a non-geophysical method that would provide the answer more cost-effectively, we do not hesitate to make referrals to other firms.
  • We participate in projects in such a way that our clients can retain as much of the billings as possible.  That is, we are happy to help a client design a geophysical survey and then provide, if desired, only the necessary and appropriate geophysical instrument(s) and operator(s), while the client supplies the field crew, surveying, and any other ancillary services.  Alternatively, we are happy to design and implement a survey start-to-finish.
  • Although we do highly technical work, our reports describe the methods and results of a survey in language that is understandable and useful to our client.
  • Our maps and figures are designed to be understandable to the lay person -- i.e. using color schemes based on the “Green Good, Red Bad” principle.
  • Our personnel are required to attend a minimum of one professional advancement course per year to ensure that we are aware of, and properly implement, the latest equipment, field procedures, and data analysis techniques.
  • Our field personnel maintain updated OSHA Site Workers or Supervisors Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) to ensure that we can provide our services under any environmental conditions.
  • Everyone in our firm (even our office staff)  is periodically sent in the field to assist with different types of survey so that they can experience firsthand what it takes to complete a project.
  • We maintain our small size, low overhead operation to ensure that we can provide the most cost-efficient geophysical services available.
  • We take our clients' deadlines as seriously as they do.  When we say that we will have a project or proposal delivered by a certain date, we do it.
  • We believe that clients should not have to track us down to find out the status of their project.  We make it a practice to keep them informed.
  • We attempt to give our clients all the benefits of in-house geophysical expertise without the overhead.
