Enviroscan, Inc. has multiple openings for:
Field Technicians, Project Geophysicists, and Project Managers.

Candidates for a Field Technician position must have a Bachelors degree in a physical science or math, or two years of geophysics, geology, environmental science, or civil/geotechnical engineering fieldwork experience. Field Technicians will participate in land and marine geophysics field surveys (using GPR, EM, magnetics, resistivity, seismic, sonar, and gravity methods), and may assist with data processing.

Candidates for Project Geophysicist must have a minimum 3 years of specific geophysical experience: either on-the-job, or in graduate school. Upon hiring, Project Geophysicists will be expected to immediately participate in land and marine geophysical field surveys (using GPR, EM, magnetics, resistivity, seismic, sonar, and gravity methods).  After a short training period (3 to 12 months, depending on prior experience), a Project Geophysicist will be expected to lead field efforts and process data.  Within a year, a Project Geophysicist will be expected to interpret results, and write reports.  Continued sufficient progress will lead to a Project Manager position.

Candidates for Project Manager must have a minimum of 4 years of specific on-the-job geophysics experience, with an Masters degree or higher in Geology or Geophysics. Project Managers must be able to lead field surveys  (using GPR, EM, magnetics, resistivity, seismic, sonar, and gravity methods), supervise multiple concurrent projects, process data, interpret results, write reports, manage project budgets, and supervise and train Project Geophysicists and Field Technicians.

All positions require that the candidate be willing to travel (often on short notice – but rarely for long periods), be able to get along with people, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. A sense of humor is helpful. Prior OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (with annual updates) is a plus.  Mechanical or electrical/electronic skills are also a plus.  In addition, qualified candidates need to be physically fit since geophysics fieldwork often involves carrying instruments for long distances in a wide variety of conditions and terrains.  Starting salary for both positions is dependent upon previous training and experience.  Other benefits will include: health & dental insurance, company retirement plan, generous holiday and vacation time, and either overtime pay or billability-based quarterly bonus (depending on position).

Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to Felicia K. Bechtel, President.
